Project – Ultramagic Balloons

by on Nov.28, 2016, under Cocos2d-x, Projects

The original idea of this game was to develop a cross-platform game (Android and Iphone / Ipad). The idea was to develop a multi-player game about piloting a hot air balloon. As you can see in the first video (link below), I prepared a basic level for single player as a demo, with no much care about graphic design.

With that demo, I had competed at  Ultramagic International Innovation Awards, being selected over 200 projects to be finalist. Finally we did not win the prize :(, but this highly encourage us to continue with this project.

Lately a graphic designer have join the group (as you can see from the first video…. I am not so good at it 😛 ). Looking at the new screen shoots you can see that we have improved a lot :). He is working hard to finish everything on time for our first delivery, and helping me with the game-play configuration.

Technically speaking, I am using Cocos2d-x, what allows us to create a cross-platform. It is my first cross-platform game, and so far the experience is being really challenging, but also really rewarding. Using C++ as a language, makes things much easier (at least for me, I am a C++ lover).

Summarising this game will be released around in the first quarter of 2014 for the Android version …. but still a lot of work to get there (later on also will be available in the Apple store)

Update 01/10/2014: Full released on App Store and Google Play

Update 15/01/2014: Currently the game is already in alpha testing phase in Google Play. Let’s see how it behaves in different devices my little boy :-). So far is working fine in Galaxy S II, III and IV, Nexus S, Nexus 4 and 5, 7 and 10.

Update 04/03/2014: We already have an official release date…… 31/03/2014. I have released today a new version, alpha  0.46 and the game is getting there.  Is still missing some artwork, but the functionality is almost there. I am really looking forward to release it soon :).

Update 01/12/2015: Both Android and AppStore releases are published (see links below) and now I am working on few improvements at the moment.
